An in-vivo demonstration of human stupidity might work. Accept
everything that the doubter says and appear to publically "recant"
everything you previously stated (you have to be a good actor or actress
to do it). Kind of like one of those "flash" christianity conversions
(or deconversions as others on the list have pointed out)...

Then at the end, sum up with some nice pithy observation about how
the human mind is so easily programmed to believe simply anything
that its a wonder we manage to get anything done at all. The
smart ones will catch on. If the 'doubter' does too, then they
can scream about being manipulated by you, then you can just observe
that they are being manipulated by everyone who wants them to "believe"
something without any evidence.
