The "ruling class" can only get away with the crazy stuff
because "the people" are stupid (or: enlightened self-
interestially impaired). War on drugs, communism, fascism,
statism, deathism, religious fundamentalism etc.; it all
has the same source. No conspiracy, just mass stupidity.
