    The explanation is simple. Beer in UK pubs costs roughly GBP
    2.20-3.50 a pint (imperial pint, not your wimpish American
    pints) -- about US $3.50-$5 a pint. (And imported Czech and
    German beers are at the top of that price range.) In contrast,
    beer in Czech ale houses costs about US $0.5-0.7 a pint. Given
    that the cost of the return flight is about US $25-50 ...

    ... Think of it as free market economics in action.
