    Hopes of recovery? Is there a story here some of us don't know?
    Or do you mean recovery from the allegedly awful "Ringworld Throne",
    which I was scared to read so bad were the things about it said.

    The Ringworld idea *itself* was brilliant, of course, perhaps the
    single best idea in SF, along with "Berserkers". But he's not been
    such a good storyteller, at least not after World of Ptavvs.
