Greetings from Stromboli (the town, the island, and the volcano)

Here I am, on this tiny island with amazingly good
services for a population of 300. Yes, the volcano
    is smokin' ...!

Last night I saw a volcano rockfall. We hiked halfway
up the mountain (group with guide), and spent hours
watching and listening the spectacle. At night, a volcano
rockfall is a fiery dance; glowing boulders cascading
down the slope- the 'music' sounds like a combination
of waterfalls and streams, but punctuated with pops
and roars and and low frequency rumbles. mesmorizing.

    Ciao for now...

    Amara
