    Hi Natasha,

    Just a thought

Perhaps the moderating load could be shared. Though I'm not sure
those that would be best at it are super numerous or likely to want
to spend too much time. But perhaps there is some merit in a sort of
a roster system. Especially as time zones are a factor too. The list
is 24/7 whereas moderators mush sleep.

Yourself ;-), Hal, Harvey, Eliezer (has experience), Greg, Steve Davies,
    all good candidates.

There might be a number of others that might be sufficiently invested in
the health of the list and concerned to do the job well to grow into a
job they may not have a natural flair for. Say Lee Corbin? and perhaps
me, but the workload scares me and its no fun doing any sort of policing
    work or umpiring.

If you really wanted to experiment will what a bit of responsibility might
do how about Ron, Mike and Sam ;-)

But to make such work it might be worth while (if a roster system
was adopted to assist different people who'd make different
judgements) to have some guiding principles for moderating that
are published somewhere in advance and can themselves be
    reviewed.

I wouldn't worry to much about lack of "adult" behaviour as I
think you put it. Even national governments have speakers to
control traffic and preserve some sort of decorum and the stakes
    are considerably higher there.

    Regards,
    Brett

If you would like to suggest someone for list moderator, please send your suggestions to me privately and I'll bring it up at our next board meeting.

BillK suggested we bring E.Shaun back. Unfortunately E.Shaun cannot moderate the list at this time, but I am sure we can find someone to step up to the plate and fairly apply the list rules.

Thanks for all the comments, advice, and thoughtfulness. I think we can move through this argumentative phase and get back to what we all relish about the list, discussions and the future!

      Natasha
