If the alternative is death, I'd say that's a pretty stupid
question. It's nice when circumstances offer you a third choice
of being both alive and perceived as a nice guy. But sometimes
the world doesn't give you that choice, and it's naive and
irresponsible to pretend that it does. >>
Actually, there's another alternative, too. Beef up your defenses so that
their weapons don't really do you any damage. Wear a bullet-proof suit, so to
speak. :)
