    But it wasn’t bombed for 4 years, the really significant stuff only happened
    in the last year especially the last 6 months; and back then it took about
    a thousand bombs to destroy a target that can now be taken out with one, and
    60 years ago they deliberately targeted civilian areas, a tactic that proved
    to be not only inhumane but counterproductive. This mistake is unlikely to
    be repeated. I’m not saying things won’t get ugly in Baghdad I’m just saying
    it’s not hopeless.
