I hear that the Dixie Chicks are now being boycotted on country radio
stations because Natalie Maines made anti-Bush comments at a London
concert recently (Specifically, "We're embarrassed that the President
is from Texas"). Many fans have torched their DC cds.
Gallup polls now show that 57% of Americans think the UN is useless and
we should invade Iraq anyways. 78% think that the UN's credibility is
seriously damaged.
The rest of the world seriously underestimates how significantly
Americans think that the UN has no business telling us what we can and
can't do. We, after all, created it, and we, after all, are responsible
for the fact that so many of the rest of you are even living in
democracies. The rest of you are plainly selfish, stupid, and just
wrong to say that we shouldn't spread democracy to Iraq. It isn't your
call.
Saw on the news the other day, a New York City viewer emailed the
anchor asking when bidding will be open for office space in the
soon-to-be-vacated UN Tower...
Also saw in the news that a cable from the German UN Ambassador to his
government last November stated that Germany could reap great advantage
from opposing us for the sake of opposing us, that we could be 'made to
grovel begging for help from Germany when the US needs help with
reconstruction in Iraq'....
