An island w/ "no gov't" would be great from an extro perspective- without a
government, there couldn't be any laws against cloning, cryo, or other cool
tech. Somehow, though, I doubt Gitmo qualifies- it's entirely run by the US
military, which, ironically, is the approximation to communism in the US. The
place is literally *full* of government! Hopefully this turn of American
statism toward unconcealed aggressiveness represents desperation on the part of
the ruling elite- between nanotech, life-extension, the Net, encryption,
private space exploration, increased global dissent against them, etc. their
medium-to-long term prospects have never been *worse*- and they're gradually
realizing it.
