Sorry--best I can do is suspend judgment--I wasn't there,
and I discount just about all journalism about crowds.
But if the actual scene on the ground was anything like
what I saw in San Francisco today, I don't think the moral
high ground is in clear possession.
I saw very little that cheered me or warranted cheering.
I saw cattle being led by demagogues with very odd subtexts.
This doesn't mean I think Bush walks on water.
