    Basically if you look at any of the orbiter's black bits, that is
    where the plasma is. However, the orbiter itself is enveloped in a
    bubble/teardrop of plasma as it vents around the vehicle.

    Bugger. I just realized that this software is no longer citing people
    I am responding to. What a gaff. I had to add in Adrian above
    manually.
