That's why I wrote "virtual" :-)

Well, the nuclear industry here received billions of DMarks as open or
indirect support. E.g. the state as share holder in energy corp.,
infrastructure, security personnel, R&D. Plus several laws made to reduce
costs for fisson power, e.g. by relieving them of the costs for the
disposal and security of nuclear waste.
I remember when the bavarian Ministerpräsident (Govenor) once loudly
promoted the reprocessing plant in Wackersdorf, when the nuclear industry
had already left the party (because La Hague (France)) had made them a
better offer).
I have also seen several calculations that the total costs for fission
per MWh are much higher than for several alternatives. Of course, some
cost factors are much higher here, because we don't have wide deserts for
power plants or waste disposal.
