Re: SPACE: Lunar Billboard?

I know there is an old turn of the century sf story, most likely by Jules
Verne where some enterprising advertisers project soap advertisements on
the moon using a huge "reverse telescope". And in one of the Spirou
cartoons the evil genius Zaphire bombards the moon with color-filled
missiles in a Coca Cola logo, but his brainwashed servants (who speak
backwards) unfortunately writes it mirrored.

I think the idea is rather pointless, due to the amount of resources
needed (you have tens of millions of square kilometers to paint!) and the
very likely backlash from irate people the world over. Just remember the
uproar over the space billboard a few years back from astronomers and the
public. Besides, it is hard to change the advertisement.

My suggestion is that you invest in enhanced reality advertising instead.
