Sky Station International from Washington (http://www.skystation.com)
intends to go ISP starting with 1999, using PV-driven He-filled
stratospheric platforms (30 km cruise height, 30x30 m size, 7 t weight,
47 GHz, serves 7500 km^2 with 16 kBit/s...1.5 MBit/s links). Immobile
stations are meshed with 180 MBit/s links.

64 kBit connections are estimated to cost 10 cents/min. One platform
should be able to serve 150 k users with 64 kBit/s links.

250 stations are planned, in cooperation with Italy, Australia and Argentina.
