Well, it seems that nobody has mentioned the easy way to deal with the
possible ill effects of aspartame-derive methanol: ingest some ethanol
too. It makes the methanol metabolism slower and blocks the formaldehyde
production (this is in fact the standard treatment for methanol
poisoning). No, ethanol in small doses is not dangerous, although it is
energy-rich and reduces inhibitions - you have to fit it into the
metabolic and neurochemical program you use. Definitely not suitable for
Calorie Restriction.

Placebo can definitely do things like 3 days of insomnia or headaches (in
some cases it can kill or send cancer into remission, after all). It is a
surprisingly powerful force in some people (others are almost completely
indifferent to it).
