If all you had written was the "Oh well" if would have been sufficient for me to dismount my High Horse. "Pain and Righteous Indignation" would have been even better.
I have loved "The World" forever, and I reacted as I would if someone dishonored my Ancestors or my Country. I know, I know, thoroughly atavistic.
