Hey, thanks!

Those of you who have kept up with the continuing debate between den Otter and I may now proceed to worry about the fact that den Otter had this information on hand.

I would like to assure everyone that I haven't yet decided whether to start a PGP-encrypted list; I'm still investigating the feasibility. So if you don't hear anything more about the matter, you shouldn't take that silence as being ominous.

And Sandberg, Jones, Spike - I'm an *ethical* fanatic. Every time I visualize myself "meddling" and have an opportunity to check what the results would have been, I find that it would have gone wrong in one way or another. And that's the ultimate foundation of human ethics - knowing that you don't know enough to stop respecting the minds of others.

Besides which, as I've said before, I have no interest in taking over the world. I want *out* of the human condition, and any human taking over the world, even myself, is not progress toward that end. How on Earth could you bribe a Singularitarian? What the heck would you bribe one with?
