Well, to quibble, one could argue that you aren't living in a "communist" state until the gov't has "withered away" a la Marx. In other words, one could argue that there's no such thing as a communist state: ultimately society must be anarcho-socialist before it's truly communist.

Similarly, if there were a popular "anarchist" party in the US, even if it had a majority position in Congress, it would still be folly to call such a situation an anarchist state. :)
