Of course the answer being looked for here is "d", but my fincky little
brain wonders what's -really- in the middle of middle? Isn't there actually
NO letter in the absolute middle of middle? :)

In which case, the answer, of course, must be 'nothing.'

What 'thing' is left to mend after you've mended everything else? Nothing.
Nothing is in the middle of middle.
What comes at the end of the end? Well, if it's -really- the end, then,
