A favorite old sci-fi movie of mine is "Forbidden Planet". For its time
(1957) it got an impressive amount of science right, raised a number of
very interesting issues and was a really good yarn to boot. It was also
one of the first movies with coole electronic sound effects. Highly
recommended. Some very funny parodies have also been done. A sure mark
of a classic.
