That statement appears to exclude visionaries who recommend a phase
transition in human life (making them transhumans) in order to avoid
the extinct species that Homo sapiens may become, in the event it
continues its present course toward global suicide, or it fucks up
the high tech path (or in the event that the high tech path fucks up
Homo sapiens). Limiting one's vision to what humans "might" become
seems dangerous in light of what humans have already become: Nazis,
Communists, Mafioso, Democrats, etc.
