Note that it's been going down (towards peace) over the past several
weeks. I'd actually say it's "despite" Israel's recent flare ups, and
possibly "because of" the Bush-Gore problem. (Less mandate for the US
pres. = less ability to try to enforce views on other nations = less
chance of violent conflicts over same, maybe?)
