Re: Extropians Mailing List --Approval Procedure (fwd)

this is mail i sent the list administrator after receiving (after weeks of
waiting) the IMO absurd and utterly *un*-extropian response which i've
copied below.

i searched the archives for relevant discussion on 'abuse' of the list,
and 'approval procedure' thinking there was some profound reasoning i
haven't been a party to. but i turned up nothing. so, i'm forwarding
this on to you all to see what sort of feedback you might give.

in any case, i've gone back to digest-mode (i wanted to switch to
regular mails since i hated scrolling and have installed procmail).....

regards,

olivia

Slack variable:. In an inequality constraint of the form g(x) <= b, the slack is b-g(x), which is designated by the
slack variable, s. Then, the original constraint is equivalent to the defining equation, g(x) + s b, plus s >= 0.

open society? spontaneous order?

i try to switch from digest to regular format....and you get back to me a *full month* later that you need my SNAIL MAIL ADDRESS?!

you have to be kidding.

making it this difficult to get involved in extropian discussions just cannot be conducive to getting the message out and garnering the support of new members.

extropian principles are important to me and i want to see our movement succeed on a wide scale. what can we do about this absurd situation?

regards,

olivia
