Why would you assume that? For the Cosmic slime-mold model to work we
don't need a lot beyond super-adaptable grey-goo and the ability to
construct light sail devices to carry the colony to the next victim
area. Dirt-cheap, highly efficient, not distracted by useless
philosophizing, moralizing and thinking about this and that. A true
engineering dream come true.
