lack of transhumanist women?

I think talking about "hot" women to be silly; however, I will add this: I have discussed extropian ideas with men and women alike, and I have yet to talk to a woman who does not think transhumanism sounds either strange, sci-fi, or downright evil.

I do live in Wisconsin---but many of these conversations took place in a very liberal place, UW-Madison, where people are open to many ideas.

Anyone have any ideas why women seem to either dismiss or object to this?
