Dwayne's chances of meeting this fate are far higher, apparently, in the land of the free, than in tyrannised Australia. Luckily we don't have to put the cork back in the hand-gun bottle; it was never released. I don't think there's any easy answer to the firearms problem in the USA, at this point (other than a neat nano bug that eats gunpowder, say).

Hard to test. Who keeps the statistics? What are the parameters? I can't say I've seen much evidence of widespread spouse-battering (but I gather it's a working class/workless class remedy in many countries).
