Delightful news! I see by today's Oakland Tribune
that the FDA may approve thalidomide.

What's so good about that, you ask?

Whenever you criticize the FDA for impeding access to lifesaving drugs,
somebody - wellmeaning but ignorant - is sure to respond, "But the FDA
saved us from thalidomide!"

If thalidomide is approved, one of the nanny state's best myths is gone.
