Hello fauxever@sprynet.com (Olga Bourlin),
In reference to your comment:
è A few years ago Nobel Laureate (Physics) Steven
è Weinberg said, "With or without religion, you will have
è good people doing good things and evil people doing
è evil things, but for good people to do evil things, that
è takes religion." Olga
It helps if one is a racist hick like Fallwell. Saddam is as religious as you
are, but he knows haow to hit the hot buttons of Islam. Nationalism is also a
toxin of remarkable effectiveness. Nationalism is not necessarilly religious,
but surely capitalizes on religion as it does other institutions of society.
Perhaps we can replace (someday) nationalism with genuine patriotism-defined
by me -as wanting the best for one's nation or people-without wishing the
worst upon others.
