One of the best pieces I have read yet is an article by David Shapiro,
inspired by a friend of his who was pulled from the WTC rubble with crushed
legs.

A line in the article which keeps ringing in my head like an alarm bell:
"This is the first war for which there is no military solution. And without
a military solution our leaders lack the imagination to understand what is
happening and what to do."
If they don't work it out soon future generations are going to inherit
bigger problems. Even worse, the singularity may be seriously delayed. [sigh]
