One big problem I had with "The Others" was the complete overdirected
manipulation in the film. This, and the fact that the plot is just a rehash
of a few other stories and movies, e.g., "The Turn of the Screw," the
original "The Haunting," and a certain play whose name I won't mention for
fear of spoiling the ending.
