My sense of this (very much secondhand; the closest I got to military
service was working for a few weeks hoisting up targets on poles in a
concrete bunker that cadets with .303s fired at, a somewhat unnerving job)
is that they leave it to your unhappy squad mates to find suitable
punishment for your disruptions.

(The notion that those thick, foul-mouthed, cruel bastards would *always
stick exactly to the rules* strikes me as... well, utopian.)
