I think Miriam has a good point here. But it might be argued that the
underclass is more dangerous to the middle class than the upperclass.

For example in Tianamen Square it was said the gov't had to ship in army
troops from outside the city since the city troops were hesitant to use
violence against the demonstrators.

I've heard other references that suggest underclass folks are more
likely to be brutal when given some power (such as a policeman). This
makes sense since there's probably a lot of resentment and jealousy
there.
