If we use the computer as a metaphore, you'd say that software is meaningless
without hardware. Uploading is not getting rid of your body, it's porting
your mind to a new hardware architecture. That the new architecture is more
flexible only means that you have to strengthen the notion of self-ownership.
Protecting and maintaining your biological body will seem trivial compared to
the bodily challenges that the uploads will face (24-7 availability, reliable
badwidth, backups, viruses, fragmentation, etc).
