They've opened up a bit in the past several years, as well as raised
standards to the 2% level rather than a fixed IQ point level due to the
Flynn Effect. While aptitude tests don't generally reflect IQ well for
people in the mundane middle, at the upper end of the scale it is
generally consistent.
