Don't be absurd. With 800 people lurking this list, there
will be a large number of people from any group attending.
What are you begging for? For someone to simply pipe up
and say "Yes! I'm here! So what?".
Moreover, are you implying that people would feel so
intimidated that they couldn't overcome it if they
really wanted to? Of course they could! Your remark
is demeaning, and even a little arrogant.
I feel that many people (of various races) who are reading
your remark will have the admirable reticence and commendable
good taste to ignore your request to make all this very personal.
