I don't only use e-mail but I often find myself so burdened with work that
I can get 1, 2, 3 or even 6 months behind in my Extropians reading. Quite
often, when only a URL is given, one finds that the article has long since
vanished, either completely, or into some archive. Many archives now
charge for access, and even when they don't it can be hard to find an
article, when your only information was something of the form:
"Here's a nifty breakthrough you should check out: http:....."
Then one should consider the fact that someone may be reading through the
extropian archives ten years in the future, trying to track some trend. By
then the articles are almost guaranteed to be lost, unless they were
quoted here.
