There is a pretty simple explaination: Those who are healthy and alive
go to church. Those with terminal illness likely have a greater
incidence of loss of faith than those who are still healthy (the old
"why would God do this to me? He/she must not exist" routine),
therefore, more terminally ill people stop going to church than healthy,
and the healthy people, being healthy, live longer.
