I would never do anything so strange & terrifying as confusing Eliezer with

But in fact my shorthand reference to "lebenforms" was via Wil McCarthy's
fun and interestingly apocalyptic post-Singularity novel BLOOM. (McCarthy
is a "rocket guidance engineer, robot designer, science fiction author and
occasional aquanaut. He has contributed to three interplanetary spacecraft,
five communication and weather satellites, a line of landmine-clearing
robots", and some classified programs, sez Science Fiction Weekly.)
