There is an attempted rebuttal of the God idea that should be considered that
is an extension or modification of what you wrote. Some say Homo Sap had
this powerful brain and either had or developed the tendency to try to find
some reason for every thing Homo Sap experienced; all experience was culled
for an explanation. In many many cases we found causes that proved true and
helped in our surviving and thriving. According to my understanding of that
theory God is just an example of that process.
