Oh yes, that's simple. A technological problem usually has a technological
solution that can be prompted by law.
- Make it illegal to make programs that can copy other peoples copyrighted
material without their consent.
- Make it illegal to make anonymous filesharing, so you can always trace who
is sharing a file.
- Automate pirate hunting, by making bots that scours the net for illegal
content and write out high enough tickets to the responsible parties.
- Make the isp's responsible for illegal content or make them monitor their
network for illegal content. Just search for filename, filesizes and file
content.
- Make the software author acountable for how his software is used. Go for
the authors of gnutelle and freenet etc. Soon they will not write the
software anymore.
- etc. etc. etc.
That we don't want the above things to happen does not mean that they cannot
happen. That is very naive. If something puts pressure on the society, the
society will usually put sufficient pressure the other way until the problem
is solved. From societys POW. We can obviously see why the above solutions
would be bad stuff
