"There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." From Robert Heinlein's _The Moon is a Harsh Mistress_. I think it's on the Extropian reading list, but it certainly should be if it isn't. A classic for freedom-lovers of all stripes (and other science fiction fans, and AI fans, and anyone who just likes a good story told well).
