okay, i think we're pretty deep into spoiler/off-topic territory
here. anyway, both _fight_club_ and _pi_ are kinda anti-extropian when i
think about it. sure, the protagonist of _pi_ engages in *kinda*
self-modification for the sake of truth, and he plays go, which is a plus
... but i'm not sure i would call his result "success" ... he kinda got
bitch-slapped by god. in any case, sorry for the gratuitous noise, i fall
silent now.
