EXTRO-5: SHAPING THINGS TO COME
June 15-17, 2001
San Jose, California
We have just updated the Web pages for the conference at:
http://www.extropy.org/ex5/extro5.htm
The program is not yet complete and we will be adding more speakers. We
have recently confirmed and secured several excellent new participants.
Most recently we have added David Friedman, and Tad Hogg (Xerox PARC).
We are especially pleased that, thanks to the sponsorship of Kurzweil
Technologies, Ray Kurzweil will make a special 2 1/2 hour video conference
appearance on Friday afternoon. We urge you to arrive in time for this
video conference beginning at 1pm. If you cannot be there in time, you are
welcome to send in questions based on reading the precis of Ray's
forthcoming book, The Singularity is Near, which you can find at:
http://www.kurzweilai.net/
We expect to also be able to show parts of this video conference session on
video for those unable to arrive on Friday afternoon.
Please check out the updated Speakers and Program pages at
http://www.extropy.org/ex5/extro5.htm
and return again soon, as we will be adding more speakers, finalizing times
for the Program, and adding a list of conference sponsors.
At this stage, Extro-5 looks set to be the largest, most stimulating, and
most action and solution-oriented gathering of transhumanists ever.
Onward!
Max
