Once Erdos commented "God may not play dice
with the universe, but something strange is going on
with the prime numbers".

Actually P. Erdos and M. Kac published a (little
known) theorem. This theorem states that if we plot
the number of prime factors of *very large* numbers,
we get a *bell* curve ! Almost as these numbers were
choosing their prime factors *at random*.

[The Gaussian law of errors in the theory of additive
number theoretic functions, Am. Journ. of Math., 1940,
p. 738].

An anthropic principle (also) for the number theory?
