In the latest issue of the estimable *New York Review of Science Fiction*,
Vernor Vinge briefly lists three authors read recently and recommended. He
writes:
===================
Karl Schroeder, VENTUS: Dramatically effective and a milestone in science
fiction about nanotech and fine-grained distributed systems.
Will Shetterly, CHIMERA: Very entertaining, and also interesting as a
dystopian take on libertarianism.
Walter Jon Williams, METROPOLITAN and CITY ON FIRE: There are very few
series where I've more eagerly awaited the trilogy capstone than [WJW's]
plasm novels.
