Just to follow up, yes Eliezer is in the middle of forming such a
"Singularity Institute" that will spin off some organization to do
actual research on his AI work. It may also down the road spin off
research organizations for other AI approaches, or other approaches
to accelerating a singularity that it (the main singularity institute)
thinks are being overlooked.
