What about Philip Glass' aptly named _Anthem_? It was the theme music
in _The Truman Show_. A slow, powerful theme repeating itself and
growing in strength and clarity.

Or we can do like the inhabitants of the planet Atlantis in my game
world, and whenever somebody asks for the flag or anthem, they show a
video clip of some of the original colonists raising a pair of
longjohns on a flagpole, singing "We don't need no stinking anthem"
(badly). :-)
