The major flaw was in our trying to fish the colonialist Frenh's fat out of the fire, and getting our own fat fried in the process. The Vietnamese had fought the French for 30 years; what made us think that another few years of fighting us instead would make them give up? The only way to win such a war is not to fight it, and let the desire for television and blue jeans to take over and rot their communist souls from within (as is happening now). Joe E. Dees
