Well, I *could* widen this out so that your hundred-byte lines (one of
them is 104; would be 106 quoted) don't wrap in *my* window -- but that
does nothing for *other* people trying to read it, who'd have to widen
*their* windows to 108 ...

Egocentrism is a virtue but it can be taken too far.
